This classic Everest Mohair Dress is great for both professional and evening wear. This simple knit, seamless dress is worked from the top down beginning with the neck, in a simple pattern in the round. The sleeves are also worked in the round. You can knit the dress and sleeves to the length you require. It’s an easy to wear pull-on design with a shaped waist.
The pattern throughout is knitted using Ice Everest Brushed Mohair and Rico Design Creative Melange Glitz yarn. The main and contract colour combination features a fresh and bright design. I used Mosaic Slip stitch pattern motifs for the sleeves and bottom part of dress. It is the one of the easiest colorwork techniques, as you only ever work with one colour yarn at a time, so there is no need to juggle multiple colours at once.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• 11x30g balls (1320m or 1443,57yds) using Ice Everest brushed mohair yarn.
• 3x50g balls (300m or 328 yds) using Rico design Creative Melange Glitz yarn 009.
NB If you substitute another yarn, please check tension and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 4.50mm x 110cm (US 7).
• 1 Circular needle 6.00mm x length 110 cm (US 10).
• 1 Circular needle 4.50mm x 50 cm (US 7).
• 1 Circular needle 6.00mm x 50 cm (US 10).
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 8 Stitch Markers.
• 2 Stitch holders.
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches on 10cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10cm, take a smaller needle size.
ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS:
One size: M- (the knitted fabric is stretchy).
Dress length (from top of the shoulders)- 110cm (43,3ins). Dress flat width (just below armhole)- 46cm (18.1ins). Sleeve length (measured from neckline)- 63cm (24.8ins). Sleeve flat width (just below armhole)- 19cm (7.5 ins).
