Evergreen Hat
Materials
4mm circular needles, preferably 80cm.
4mm crochet hook.
A darning needle to sew in ends
About 100-120 grams of Kilcarra Tweed (I bought the yarn from a lady who sold it per 50 grams so I have actually no Idea how many meters/yards are needed). I believe it won’t take more yarn than a hat with a double folded brim though.
Description
The pattern is knitted in one piece but is not recommended for complete beginners because it involves a lot of simultaneous techniques while knitting. You need to be able to work an I-cord, and I-cord edge, 2 by 2 ribbing and German short rows. The hat is designed to sit rather loosely on the hat, more like a cap than a hat, but can be safely secured by tying it underneath the chin.
I recommend using a sturdier yarn to make the hat more sturdy and avoid floppiness.
