This cowl is a perfect introduction to color work knitting. The pattern is easy to work and the floats are short allowing for focus on proper tension without worry of catching floats. The Every Which Way Cowl knits up quickly in DK weight yarn and is an easy knit to “read,” making it great for those of us who have to put down the knitting at a moments notice to attend to or redirect the littles.

The Every Which Way Cowl is an homage to my experience of being Mom to my two children, Caitlyn and Ryan. Being a mother is a great adventure, full of fun in many, often unexpected, ways. While I begin each day with good morning hugs and end each day with bedtime stories, my days take many an unscheduled turn. As a mom, I find myself both a master and student of redirection.

The Every Which Way Cowl requires two colors of DK weight yarn. Main Color 250 yards, Coordinating Color 100 yards

The cowl was designed with Queen City Yarn Biddleville DK (100% Superwash Merino, 115 grams, 250 yards). The sample uses He’ll Only Wear Black Socks as the Main Color and The Huddle is Real as the Coordinating Color.

August 2023- V2 updated to include working links for special techniques like the Tubular Cast On as well as updated color work charts featuring both a light and dark MC for ease of use regardless of color selection.
