My great niece Evie was approaching her 1st birthday so an ideal time to create a cardigan especially for her as her mummy loved the previous hand knits I had made for her. I love simple, modern designs that will stand the test of time so my Evie cardigan was born. Garter stitch is my favourite stitch for it’s classic, timeless appeal for baby knits.
This cardigan is knit flat and seamed with stitches for the sleeves being picked up along the sleeve cap and then knitted down flat on 2 straight needles before being seamed. The inside ties are crocheted but can be made in ribbon if preferred.
