Exotic Rainbow Shawl
Exotic Rainbow is a celebration of geometry, movement, and the joy of color. This shawl uses a rhythmic modular construction to build a striking triangular silhouette that showcases the vibrant interplay of hand-dyed yarns.
Designed to be both a masterpiece and a “stash-buster,” the construction naturally lends itself to mixing leftovers or highlighting a cherished rainbow colorway. Each section is joined as you work.

The Construction
The shawl is worked flat, growing diagonally from the bottom tip upward. Each modular “Diamond” is built onto the last by picking up stitches, creating a seamless fabric with wonderful drape.
To finish the piece, a specialized Short-Row Border is worked across the top edge . This technique creates a gentle, polished curve that leads into a sophisticated I-cord bind-off, perfectly framing the bold lines of the diamonds.
