If you’re traveling, a soft handbag with a broad strap goes a long way if you plan on exploring streets and markets for hours on end.

I designed this bag with comfort in mind. It doesn’t close, and serves purely as a shopper bag that allows you to add souvenirs and trinkets as you go. And it folds up flat in your suitcase!

I used a thick rug yarn/T-yarn (not spaghetti yarn) to give it some sturdiness and shape, whilst still being soft enough on the shoulder so you can carry it around all day. Look for super bulky rug yarn, or make your own (some great video tutorials out there).

For more patterns, visit my Ravelry and Etsy stores. In the latter, you can also find a selection of some of the best hand dyed, handspun yarns South Africa has to offer, with low shipping worldwide.
