• DESCRIPTION: Using an easy alteration to a basic stitch creates a simple (but not plain) design perfect for any project. This stitch creates a dense fabric that would work well as a washcloth, scarf, or even a baby blanket.

• GAUGE & SIZING: Gauge (tension) isn’t very important in this project. For reference, my gauge is 14 sts and 13 rows per 4”.
Play around with hook sizes until you find one that makes a fabric you like. This pattern is written to produce a washcloth roughly 9.25 inches by 9.25 inches.

• ABBREVIATIONS & STITCHES USED:

ch = chain
st = stitch
yo = yarn over
ExSC = Extended Single Crochet (Instructions given in pattern)

• MATERIALS:
About 120 yards of cotton or cotton blend yarn. I used Dishie from WeCrochet in the colors Swan and Linen. Any #4 will work.
(Such as Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran)
A 4.0 mm (G/6) hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch markers if desired.
