Materials
G 4.25 mm crochet hook (or hook needed for gauge; almost all testers had to go up one or more hook sizes for this pattern)
Tapestry needle
Mercerized worsted weight yarn (Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton or similar)
• Bucket Hat (1.25” brim), 200 yards
• Short Brim (3.75” brim), 290 yards
• Full Brim (6.25” brim), 370 yards
Scissors
Measuring Tape
Optional:
• Galvanized braided wire 1/16” ** Highly recommended for structure!
• For the Bucket Hat, one 36” length
• For Short Brim, one 36” length and one 54” length
• For Full Brim, one 36” length, one 54” length and one 80” length
o These can be found at any hardware store and they will cut it to the right length for you too!
• Caps for the ends of the wire
o You don’t need these but they are an additional option to finish the ends of the wire. I used jewelry caps I had already. There are also crimp beads, shrink wraps and butt ends (actual name) sold specifically for capping galvanized wire at hardware stores. I will also demonstrate how to finish the ends of the wire in case you don’t want to cap the ends.
