Extra Thick Chrimbo Socks
Meet the Extra Thick Chrimbo Socks! Be bold this winter season and keep your feet warm in the process. Plus this is an awesome scrap-buster as you need so little of each colour!!
These are a top-down sock with a heel flap and gusset. The ankle follows a small chart. The foot is entirely written instructions.
Sizes: 1=40sts 2=44sts, 3=48sts, 4=52sts, 5=56sts, 6=60sts, 7=64sts
This equates to a foot/ankle measurement of 6.75 (7.25, 8, 8.75) 9.25 (10, 10.75) inches/ 17 (18.5, 20.25, 24) 23.75 (25.5, 27) centimetres. I recommend picking a size that is roughly 1 inch/ 3cm smaller than your own measurements.
Yarn: Approx 180g/540m. These socks can be made from DK and Aran scraps as it doesn’t take much of each yarn (and if you run out there’s no rule saying you can’t change the colours for each section of the foot!)
Needle: 3mm& 3.25mm (or needles that obtain gauge)
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Skills:
Colourwork (Fair isle)
Reading charts
Kitchener stitch
