This is for an extra wide scarf that can be used as-is or can be folded in half length-wise to add an extra layer of warmth while still being wide enough to cover your neck. For one that is a “normal” width, cast on 33 stitches instead of 57.

I used 7 of the 75m skeins of Gisimo 100% Merino wool for a 70” scarf.

Length can be adjusted based on preference. The general rule of thumb is that the scarf is as long as the wearer is tall.

This pattern is a basic moss stich pattern with 1x1 ribbing on the ends.

I used the alternating long-tail cast on and the invisible ribbed bind-off.

I made this scarf to compliment the “Beloved Aran” hat by Solenn Couix-Loarer (pattern found on Ravelry).
