This cardigan was inspired by the breath-taking style of Navajo weaving known as the “Eye Dazzler” rug. These amazing rugs were true rare works of art, inspired by the range of colours available in the chemically dyed wool introduced to the reservations around the turn of the last century. This sweater pays homage to the artistry, spirit and courage of those amazing weavers.

Originally introduced in the booklet in a subtle colour palette considered more exceptable to today’s knitters, I have also included a photo of the original swatch, knit in colours more true to the original spirit of these rugs.
