Eye of the Hawk Mitts
I wanted to knit my husband a pair of fingerless gloves with yarn I had used for a hat for him, but struggled to find a pattern that worked with DK or sport weight yarn and that would fit him. Although his hands are not extremely large, they are manly and long. Most patterns were too short and too tight. After struggling enough, I decided the only way to knit him mitts that fit was to design my own pattern. And here it is. I have used both DK and sport weight yarn. I have made it so you can knit it with a bird’s eye pattern or not. They fit the hand of a man who wears a size large glove, with long fingers (although you can easily shorten them as needed). I have made a few pairs for a few different men and they all fit. Enjoy!
