THIS IS A PATTERN FOR 4 SEPARATE EYEBALL THEMED SQUARES:
-one with a fully detachable popping eye
-one with a popping eye that is attached
-one with a surface eye
-and a plain square that can be incorporated into projects.
The popping eye squares are a good fit for amigurumi, some accessories, and decor. The surface eye is best for wearables like shrugs, cardigans, hats, hand warmers, etc.

THE PATTERN IS PRIMARILY FOR THE SQUARES THEMSELVES, but provides helpful tips on completing some example projects (shrug, hand warmers, and cube): this eyeball square can be altered to incorporate into other projects made from granny square motifs.
Faffing and math is needed for some wearables.

Pattern includes photos for technique clarification, major steps, and assembly- this pattern does not contain photos for every repeating step.
(While every effort is made to ensure that this pattern is clear and correct, please reach out if you need support or see something off)

This pattern is a 31 page PDF.

Pattern is written in US terminology (with Canadian spelling)

(The pattern, along with my others, has been tested by a team of wonderful people- but if you happen to notice anything awry, please message or email me.
My inbox is also open if you have questions along the way; I am by no means a crochet teacher, but I would like to set you up for success in your makes)

Level: intermediate (knowledge of FLO/BLO and working into them) and quick colour changes.

Project: there are 3 different versions of the eyeball granny square: one where the eye pops completely out, one where the eye pops but is still attached, and one with eye is completely attached.

There is also a plain granny square that you can use to accent your eyeball squares.

Finished size:
Size will vary depending on rounds and stitches used (instructions given on variations):
smallest base square is approx. 2 ¾ “across (with 3.5mm hook)
Depth: ½” for surface eyeball, to 1 ½” for popping eyeball (3.5mm hook)
