For my second baby blanket design, I wanted a combination of intricate lace, which is aesthetically pleasing and interesting to knit, and just basic stockinette, garter stitch, which is easy and fast to knit and calming on the eye.

The pattern makes the blanket warm and yet breathable, perfect as an additional blanket over a plain cotton one. The little holes in the lace are just tiny enough for maybe the tiny fingers of a newborn to peek through.

The dimensions I made were 75 x 80 cm, but I wrote down how to make the blanket wider or narrower.

The pattern is written out in English and Dutch, with an additional chart for those who prefer a chart.
The lace is an easy 6 + 1 stitch repeat.

Materials used:
I used 4 skeins of Bamboo yarn from Veritas, it’s a bamboo and cotton blend yarn, perfect for babies, and 3.5 mm knitting needles.
