I came up with this swatch/stitch while trying to find a good “eyeball” stitch for my next pattern. I wanted only one eyeball per repeat because I didn’t want my piece to be that populated, I kind of only wanted ONE monster in the entire wrap if I’m being honest.

So there are quite a few teeth/mouths here, and not many eyes. Though once you master the throwing/clustering you can put eyes wherever you want. This stitch is very versatile for mad scientists. Get your Frankenstein on, my friends. Just in time for Halloween 2025!

I have included information on throwing your yarn as well as the clusters. Other than that it’s just pure garter, though you can try with stockinette if you want, I did. I didn’t think it worked as well. (I show it at the end anyway)

What I didn’t try was adding bobbles above some of the teeth to make it even more freaky. Maybe next.

Would make a freakin’ adorable kids’ sweater for a monster costume. We always had to worry about staying warm for trick or treat up here, so I’m just trying to help.

Or you know, just a monstrous washcloth or afghan or something.
