During WWII, knitting was a tool to aid in espionage and show visual resistance to what the Nazis were perpetrating across Europe. Spies would use knits and purls to send messages in Morse code; in Norway, red tassel hats were worn to show visual protest of Nazi occupation.

The events the world has witnessed, and American citizens, legal immigrants, and asylum seekers have experienced in recent history gives proof that ICE agents have far surpassed their authority. Children are being separated from parents; people are being murdered in broad daylight while peacefully protesting the appearance of ICE in their towns. People following all legal procedures are being kidnapped at their court hearings and stripped of their legal rights. This is just a small sampling of the horrific actions happening daily in our country.

This hat is designed to protest the atrocities committed by ICE agents in America today. Using a combination of knits and purls, the words “FUCK ICE” is written in text. The subtle visage allows you to wear the beanie in public, while taking a stand against injustice in America.
