I found this motif in a 17th century embroidery book. I liked the boldness of the design – a little geometrical and also a little architectural. The symbols are all pointing in one direction, like an arrow or sign guiding us around the circumference of this neck-warmer. Fada is Old English for “to guide or to direct”.
