Diese Anleitung enthält ein Konzept zum Stricken von Socken aus Resten in allen möglichen Größen. Als Beispiel wurde eine Socke in Gr. 36/37 in 6-fädigem Garn beschrieben.

Here’s a recipe for the pattern in English (you need to know how to knit socks for this to be of use for you).

Cast on a number of stitches divisible by 4 in col A. Work 2/2 ribbing for cuff. Knit one plain row in A adding one stitch at the end of the row. Start with stranding: always alternate 1 st. of each two colors (A and B) over an odd (divisible by 4 +1) number of stitches. Knit 4 rows of stranding. Break Col A. Now knit 4 plain rows using color B. Adding color C knit 4 rows of stranding. Cut B, knit 4 plain rows in C. And so forth. When your leg is long enough end with a stranded part. Work your favourite heel in your heel color. When you get back to working in the round pick up the second color of the stranded part above heel where you left it, and work 4 plain rows. Then go on in usual pattern until you get to your foot length minus length of the toe (use any toe you like). Now knit your favourite toe in your toe color. Repeat for sock 2.

This can be applied to any size of sock, and to any size of yarn. Use up all those odds and ends! Of course this is easy to work toe-up, too. Just start with your favourite toe, add one stitch to get an odd number of stitches, and use the pattern.
