I always end up with little balls of leftover fingering weight yarn, never enough to use alone, and I just can’t seem to motivate myself to commit to the amazing (but daunting) scrappy blankets. Hats, though, I could knit all the time! I can never have too many, and they make great gifts! Throw one together in just a few days, and feel super accomplished for using up those leftovers!

Grab 4, 5, or 6 colorways that look fun together, or better yet, that were already in a project together, and you’re ready to go! It takes just 25-45 yards of each color!

My favorite part of designing is seeing my patterns on your needles. Please consider linking your finished projects, and tagging as you go on Instagram @melissakdesigns and #knittingmelissa.
