I can’t think of anything more peaceful than sipping coffee on a spring morning while enjoying a pastel sunrise. The soft colors that I chose for my shawl reminded me of countless quiet moments like this, and I was inspired to design something that reflects my intention to find joy and peace in the little things. This triangular shawl is worked from the top down and is wonderful to wear anytime of year as either a scarf or a wrap! The design is fairly simple, mostly made up of garter stitch, which is mindless and relaxing to knit, and it also features a pretty ombre color pattern and airy diamond lace to keep things interesting. I recommend this pattern for intermediate knitters who have some prior experience with lace.

A few months ago, Jess from Fairlight Fibers was telling me about this amazing yarn that I just HAD to try designing with, and boy was she right! Kettle Yarn Co. Islington Fingering is an incredibly soft Blue-faced Leicester/silk blend, hand-dyed in England. The drape and stitch definition of this yarn is exquisite, and I highly recommend it! Fairlight Fibers doesn’t currently carry this yarn, but you can purchase it here directly from the dyer.
