Meet pattern #1 in my Shop Samples series: great easy to knit patterns which have proved popular projects at the LYS I was lucky to work at, Soper Creek Yarn in Orono, Ontario.

An easy colour changing project where fade meets fuzz. Knit front and back (kf&b) increases hide perfectly amongst the rows of garter stitch and are easy increases to learn. The yarn over (yo) in the Pattern Row which is dropped at the other end will give a stretchier edge to the finished garment without affecting the stitch count (beyond two stitches increased with each kf&b). Every row (after the set up row) is the same, so the only thing to watch for is when to fade.

Recommended skill level: Easy. Skills include: cast on, knit, knit front and back increase, yarn over, changing colours, cast off
