This pattern features several traditional Fair Isle motifs worked in six colorways of pure Shetland wool. The cowl is designed to be tall enough to function as a head covering as well as a neck warmer.

I used The Border Mill NORTH COAST TWEED (25g/90m, pure Shetland 4-ply yarn):
Color A – Assynt (2 balls)
Color B – Beinn Eighe (1 ball)
Color C – Wee Dram (1 ball)
Color D – Beau Lieu (2 balls)
Color E – Rowanberry (1 ball)
Color F – Myrtle (1 ball)

You’ll need a US size 3 (3.25mm) 16” (40cm) circular knitting needle and one stitch marker for the project.
