The Kilim Sweater is knitted top-down in one piece. It is a simple yoke sweater construction, where the fashion flair is achieved by creating a bulky body with tighter sleeves. The over-dimensional colorwork elements create the challenge for advanced knitters, or those ready to indulge in long-floats colorwork.

The Kilim Sweater is strongly inspired by my balkan heritage and kilim patterns typical for Bosnia and southern Serbia (previous European borders of the Ottoman Empire), but is also an omage to a japanese oversized sweater construction I got so fond of recently. In a truly global knitting community, where I am constantly picking up bits and pieces of various cultural influence, I am hoping to blend my inspiration in designing garments that are ecclectic and contemporary, yet rely strongly on tradional handwork.
