The Fairlight shawl is getting an update for its fifth anniversary!

The original is a generously sized right triangular shawl featuring soft Fern and cozy Gossamer yarns in a simple slipped stitch pattern that creates staggered window panes across the fabric.

Through the years many folks have asked for a smaller version of this classic shape, so I’m now including a second size for a slightly more streamlined, bias triangle shawl with an alternate border option.

Size 1 is the original, and size 2 is the new updated version.
Both sets of instructions and diagrams for each are included below.

Yarn
Size 1: Two 100g skeins of Barker Wool Fern & one 50g skein of Barker Wool Gossamer.
Shown in Doe & Serenade.
(Approximately 700 yards of fingering weight yarn & 450 yards of lace weight mohair/silk yarn.)

Size 2: One 100g skein of Barker Wool BFL Fingering & one 50g skein of Barker Wool Gossamer
Shown in Steadfast & Safe Harbor.
(Approximately 437 yards of fingering weight yarn & 200 yards of mohair/silk yarn.)
