Tinkerbell Fairy Applique is a cute life-like applique of the cutest fairy on Earth, Tinkerbell. Did you know that Tinkerbell was named such because she is really good at tinkering or repairing things?

Personally, I feel that she is named Tinkerbell because wherever she goes, she keeps on tinkling like a bell with her full-on fun & enthusiastic personality. She is also lovingly called, “Tink” & “Miss Bell”.

She is one of my most favorite fairies of all. The reason being, she is almost same like me, not in looks but in temperament for sure.

A little story about the making of my Tinkerbell Fairy Applique:
When I first saw the movie, Tinkerbell, I thought about converting her into crochet. I almost did it with my “Tinkerbell Fairy Mobile” pattern.

In 2009, one of my buyers wanted me to make Tinkerbell fairy appliques to add on the blanket she was making for her grandkid. So she commissioned me to make this applique. This gave me a chance to create her. I greatly enjoyed bringing her to life through this applique. When I made her, I also wrote down the draft for the pattern.

I wrote it in one of my diary & thought that I would write her pattern soon. Well, it’s been a good 14 years since I made that draft. Finally, I sat down to write her pattern. But alas, all the pages of that diary including her pattern are all torn up and in a very battered, beat-up condition.

Fairies are known to play mischief and hide up stuff in homes to play with you. I felt, with this applique, she was really playing with me as some of the torn pattern pages kept hiding from me when I was writing the final copy.

Also, It was really, really difficult trying to decipher what was left of the pattern in my diary. But stubborn me, just won’t ever give up & I finally wrote down the pattern for all of you to enjoy. Hard work, always pays off, right?
