The Fall Down shawlette was designed as a simple stockinette top-down shawl to showcase the color shifts of the yarn. The bulky yarn had lived it’s previous life as a garter stitch scarf. Unloved, the scarf was sent off to a fleamarket, where it was rescued and later unravelled by me.

The quick-knit shawlette can be worn just as a casual shoulder warmer, pinned with a shawl collar or as a neckerchief – or as a blanket for a small dog!

It can basically be knit with any weight yarn, but you need to adjust the needle size accordingly. Gauge is not important, if you’re satisfied with the fabric you get, go for it!

The shawlette has a stockinette stitch body and a garter stitch knit on border. A short photo tutorial for the cable cast-on method can by found as a separate project on Ravelry.
