This shawl is a central field of leaf motifs, a simple border and an easy edging. It is a good beginning lace project. The pattern is included in the Fall 2009 issue of SpinOff magazine.

The shawl is suitable for many gauges of handspun yarn, from fine to bulky: the size of the shawl or scarf will vary with yarn choice and needle size. There are 11 versions published in the SpinOff issue for your inspiration when planning your own version.

Note: Needle size for the variations ranges from US 00 for a very fine 2 ply silk (Variation #3) to US 8 for a much heavier Alpaca 2 ply (Variation #9) Suggested needle size is a place to start only.
