This cozy shawl is perfect to wrap around yourself on cool autumn days as the world is draped in fallen leaves. A simple, asymmetrical texture created with the lateral braid stitch, also known as the Estonian or Vikkel braid, adds interest while keeping the design simple and easy to knit. Perfect for cozy knitting with friends or your favourite movie, you can use any weight yarn by simply adjusting the number of repeats.

3 skeins of Queensland Collection Rustic Tweed (65% wool, 25% alpaca, 7% acrylic, 3% viscose; 318 yards/290 metres per skein) in colourway Olive, or approximately 950 yards of DK weight yarn. You may also substitute a yarn of your choice in any weight and adjust the number of pattern repeats to suit the size of shawl you want.
