This version of the ‘Family of Pumpkins’ is worked flat on straight needles or a circular needle at least 60cm.

This pattern can be used with any yarn weight.
The size of the finished pumpkins will depend on the yarn used as well as the needle size.
Recommend using one needle size down to the suggested for the yarn, (you can find this on the yarn band) eg. Using 4.5mm needles for Aran weight rather than the suggested 5mm. This will help keep the rib tight and prevent stuffing from sticking out between stitches.

Approximate yarn meterage for each weight of yarn, for each pumpkin size:

Small Pumpkin:
DK - 30m
Aran - 50m
Chunky - 110m

Medium Pumpkin:
DK - 60m
Aran - 100m
Chunky - 150m

Large Pumpkin:
DK - 230m
Aran - 270m
Chunky - 300m
