Knitting Pattern for a slightly oversized sweater with an alternating ribbed pattern of horizontal and vertical stripes, decorative i-cords, straight body and sleeves in sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL.

Structure:
First, the shoulder parts of back and front are worked as a long tie. To shape the shoulder you first work increases, then you work decreases. Additionally, to shape the round neck, there are worked a bunch of decreases and increases for only one part of the tie (the front part). Afterwards, stitches are picked up along the right and left side of the long tie to work the body. After a few rows, in 4x4 ribbed pattern, stitches are casted on under the armpits and the body is closed to the round. From now onwards, the body is finished until the preferred length in 4x4 ribbed pattern. All stitches are casted off with an i-cord-edging. Then, stitches are again picked up along the i-cord-edging to work the hem in 1x1 ribbed pattern.
The sleeves are worked flat back and for thin rows in 1x1 ribbed pattern. Then, they are rotated for around 90° and an i-cord-edging is attached along a purl stitch stripe. Then, stitches are picked up again along the i-cord-edging to work the cuff in 1x1 ribbing.
Last but not least, stitches are picked up along the neckline to work the collar. First, you work an i- cord-edging along the round neck. Then, stitches are again picked up along the i-cord-edging to work the collar in 1x1 ribbing. The fit of the sweater is slightly oversized. Body and sleeves are straight, the sleeves have a minimal shaping around the cuffs due to the i-cord-edging. The construction of alternating vertical and horizontal stripes in 4x4 ribbed pattern is the highlight of the sweater because it creates an interesting and modern look.

Level of difficulty: medium to advanced due to the special construction of the sweater.
