Have beautiful, hand dyed yarn and not sure how to use it? This simple fade shawl is a great way to show it off.

Yarn: 4 skeins Fingering Weight Yarn each 450+ yards
You will have enough yarn to make 2 shawls - in reverse color order.

Yardage: Approximately 950 yards per shawl

Needles: Size 5 or to gauge

Gauge: 6 sts x 12 rows = 1”

Finished size - before blocking approximately 75” wingspan. Block to desired width.

The wonderful thing about fade shawls is that you don’t “have” to follow the pattern. All you have to do is have a single color section followed by a fade section (2 colors). This pattern has 7 sections - 4 single color sections and 3 fade sections. A/AB/B/BC/C/CD/D

Before starting the shawl, experiment with how you’d like to arrange the yarns. Take photos. Be creative. Enjoy the process.
