The Fanny Dress is the dress of the summer - just as cool for the beach as it is for a city stroll. It’s worked top-down, which means you can easily adjust the length to your liking. If you want to knit it as a maxi dress, simply add the extra centimeters you need.

First, the back of the dress is worked back and forth with short rows, then you continue while making increases to shape the armholes on each side. Next, you pick up stitches for the shoulders, shaping them with short rows, adding decreases for the neckline and increases for the neckband. The shoulders are then joined to form the front, and increases are made again to shape the front armholes before joining front and back. From there, you simply knit the dress to your desired length. Finally, stitches are picked up around the armholes and neckline and bound off to create a neat edge.
