Fans of chevrons fit together neatly in this colorful creative shawl and scarf pattern. The fan shapes are worked in intarsia with two colors per row. Mixing yarns of differing weights creates various degrees of transparency and drape.

The pattern contains two versions:
The larger version is knit on 5mm/US8 needles with approximately 1320yds/1200m of various leftover yarns of different weights including Schoppel Wolle Seniorita, Hedgehog Fibres kidsilk lace, Hedgehog Fibres lace weight, Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift, Jamieson & Smith laceweight, Drops kidsilk, Bart & Francis silk/mohair, and various other leftovers.
Dimensions: an irregular parallelogram approximately 22ins/56cm wide by 66ins/170cm
The sample shawl was left unblocked.
Gauge: approximately 16 stitches and 20 rows = 4ins/10cm in stocking stitch unblocked

The smaller version was knit on 6mm/US10 needles using approximately 760yds/700m of yarns of different weights.
I used scraps of Schoppel Wolle Crazy Zauberball and Seniorita yarns, Hedgehog Fibres kidsilk lace, Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift, Jamieson & Smith laceweight, and various leftovers.
Dimensions: an irregular parallelogram approximately 19.75ins/50cm wide by 71ins/180cm
Gauge: approximately 13 stitches and 18 rows = 4ins/10cm in stocking stitch after blocking

The pdf contains charts, written patterns, notes and instructions, photographs, and a splicing phototutorial.
