This Cowl is a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit. Like plants, we do not let a little concrete or 4 walls hold us down. The Floral motif is adapted from a Nordic motif from one of my favorite books, Knitting in the Nordic Tradition by Vibeke Lind. It may have originally been a cross stitch motif.

In order to achieve an even fabric catch floats of the non-working color at the WS of the work every 3-4 stitches. Almost every row of this pattern has 2 colors and there are times when you need to carry the CC around for dozens of stitches before you need to use it.
Lining with super soft Farmer’s Daughter Oh Dang is optional but if warm and cozy is your goal…neccessary. It’s also nice to have a pop of color on the inside of a neutral cowl.
