MITTEN CONSTRUCTION
The mitten is knitted sideways with two seams (grafts), one along the centre back and another along the inner thumb. You start knitting at the centre back, work half back, then beaded front, and then second half back. The one-row thumb is incorporated into the body as you knit, similar to a one-row buttonhole.

The pattern is written and charted for three sizes and comes with a package of video tutorials.

TOOLS & NOTIONS

  • pair US 0 / 2mm 32in / 80cm circular needles
  • long beading needle & sewing thread
  • beading mat
  • blunt tapestry needle
  • stitch markers
  • waste yarn in contrasting colour

GAUGE
It is important to obtain gauge for correct sizing. The fabric should be fairly dense to prevent overstretching.
30 sts x 65 rows = 4in (10cm) in garter stitch

SIZES S/M/L
to fit hand circumferences 6.5/7/7.5 in (17/18/19cm)

Finished mitten length - 10/10.35/10.75in (25.5/26.5/27.5cm)
Finished mitten circumference - 6/6.5/7in (16/17/18cm)

The finished mitten circumference should have about ½ in (1.5cm) negative ease.
If your hand circumference is between given sizes, go for the smaller size.
If your yarn yardage is larger than recommended, e.g. 218 yds (200m)/50g, go for a denser gauge & larger size.
