Fast Track is a striking scarf that, as its name suggests, works up gratifyingly quickly with superbulky Madelinetosh ASAP on large needles. The “racing” stripe along one side adds some edge to the elegantly simple design.

We used approximately 222 m of ASAP in Tern for the main colour and 45 m in Candlewick for the contrast stripe.

Our version is super long for maximum Dr Who-like impact. However, if you prefer a shorter length, two skeins of ASAP (approximately 164 m) will yield a scarf of about 70” (not including the fab fringe!). Just be sure to cut your fringe before you finish knitting the scarf to ensure you’ve kept enough aside.

The scarf is worked entirely in garter stitch; the main colour and contrast stripe are worked at the same time using the intarsia technique. A link to this helpful tutorial by Aroha Knits is included in the pattern.
