About the Design
This pattern is worked in overlay mosaic crochet using two contrasting colors referred to as Light Color and Dark Color, allowing you to personalize your palette while maintaining clear visual definition.

• Finished Size: approx. 155 × 147 cm (61 × 58 inch) when using a 6 mm hook and matching gauge.

Yarn Requirements (Estimated)
For the original size (approx. 155 × 147 cm / 61 × 58 in, 6.0 mm hook):
• Total yarn: approx. 1600–1900 meters (1750–2100 yards) DK / Light Worsted
• Dark Color (background): approx. 55–60% of total yardage
• Light Color (overlay): approx. 40–45% of total yardage
As a guideline, this equals approximately:
• 8–10 skeins of 100 g DK yarn (±200–240 m per skein), depending on brand and tension.
Using a smaller hook size will reduce overall yarn usage; a larger hook or looser tension may increase it.

Gauge
Gauge will affect final size and yarn usage.
For this pattern, the estimated gauge is: 11 stitches × 12 rows = 10 cm (4”). Worked in single crochet (back loop only).

How to Start
We begin with a foundation row (row 0) in the light color: Begin with a foundation chain of 174 chains, (171 pattern stitches + 2 border stitches + 1 turning chain). Start the return row in the 2nd stitch.
Work one row of single crochet back to the beginning before starting row 1 of the mosaic pattern.

Finishing
You may weave in the ends or apply an envelope border to conceal them. Blocking is recommended to achieve a clean, flat finish and enhance stitch definition.
