My Faux Hanging Pheasant pattern is available to pre-order in my debut book Faux Taxidermy Knits!

No quintessential British home is complete without pheasants hanging in it’s countryside kitchen. Although you wont be able to roast yours and enjoy it with some bread and potatoes it will sit prettily and impress the guests you do have over for dinner. They make perfect centres piece on the table and before long you’ll be in the game business with requests from friends and family all over the land.

Knitted using super bulky yarns, these birds can be made up easily, so you’ll have no problem filling the kitchen with them. They use gorgeous Erika Knight and Rowan yarns, making them a really special project. I’ve been waiting for a long time to design something using the Thick ‘n’ Thin wool, especially in Granite, and these seemed like the perfect pieces for it. You can even play around with endless colourway possibilities, mix and matching the colours on the body and wings.

Inside Faux Taxidermy Knits this pattern includes full written instructions for the knitting and sewing up, a cute diagram with the sizing information and a template for the legs that are made from grey felt.

You can find this pattern in my book, Faux Taxidermy Knits, which can be sourced from across the internet annnnnd for a limited time only I have exclusive Sincerely Louise goodie bags which are available on my website. These include a signed copy of the book, everything you need to make the cover project – including the yarn, needles and eyes, an extra special bonus pattern and some badges, all in an SL tote bag. Faux Taxidermy Knits includes 15 wild knitting patterns split into two sections, wearbles and habitat so you and your house can be head to toe in creature trophies with no animals being harmed.
