Faux Headband Knitted Hat

By simply switching stitches and colors your can create the surprising illusion of an overlaying hatband on this knitted hat. This piece is knit in the round, it is a chic addition to any wardrobe. It is not difficult to knit but it looks for all the world, like a complicated project. Try it, you’ll love it.

Other knitters will peer in closely, to learn the secret of creating this hatband look. You can knit two or three of these hats with most skeins of yarn using left over bits of yarns to create the contrasting hatband and the small amount of lighter colored fine yarn. This is an easy, quick, intermediate level knitters project. The lighter contrasting yarn could be left out if the hat band color is lighter than the background of the hat. I found using the darker color with the lighter bit added for contrast, made the look of the hatband more ‘believable’.

I prefer to keep my pattern prices low because, as a knitter, I too prefer to spend my money on lovely fibers and yarns, I assume other knitters are like-minded.

Enjoy.
