Dusty’s Vintage Buttons, one of my all-time favorite vendors, was at TNNA this past June. The owner, Michele Piccolo, doesn’t do on-line sales but she does do a lot of fiber-related shows, and if you are lucky, you will be at a show where she has a booth. I collect Bakelite buttons and Michele always has a wonderful selection. I was inspired by my latest purchase to design a skirt around these colorful 1” buttons.

Since the topic of the Fashion Framework article is pleats, I decided to do faux pleats. (Real pleats would not be practical for the medium weight tweed yarn I wanted to use.) The skirt is worked flat to the hips. Bands are then picked up on both sides. The skirt is then worked in the round to the waist. It is designed to be worn low on the waist.
