The Faux Ribbed Baby Blanket and Hat are loom knit using Premier Bloom Chunky Self-Striping Floral Print yarn. It’s so much fun to watch the stripes come to life because the faux ribbing on the blanket and hat bodies works up so fast. No purls are used to create fabric that looks like a knit 1, purl 1 stitch! The faux ribbing stitch pattern uses a 2-row repeat of e-wraps and yarn overs, which means you’re only working every other peg. Amazing how much faster that goes!

Yarn: For both the blanket and hat, a total of 654 yards (6 skeins – 109 yards per skein) of Premier Bloom Chunky Self-Striping Floral Print Yarn, a #5 weight bulky yarn. The Chrysanthemum colorway was used in the sample.

Looms Needed:
Blanket: any 3/4” gauge loom with a minimum of 66 pegs. Knitting Board’s Adjustable Multi-Knit Loom with small pegs in every other hole was used in the sample.
Hat: 5/8” gauge Flexee Loom Links Chunky built for 30 pegs in the round

Finished sizes:
Blanket: 30” x 35”
Hat: 13.5” circumference x 5.25” height
