If you know how to knit a scarf, then you can knit this vest!

This vest is a spin-off pattern from my “Favorite Shawl Cardigan” pattern which is a warm cozy shawl cardigan. However, because I loved the construction and the look of the cardigan, I wanted to create a Spring, Summer or Fall kind of garment that can be worn over a t-shirt or dress in a less chunky yarn (& smaller gauge).

The yarn that I used is a wool/nylon tweed blend that is super soft to the touch and light. A great yarn for the Spring, Summer of Fall. However, you can easily substitute the yarn and use cotton, or other types of yarn.

The Vest has an interesting construction that may look more complicated than it is. At first glance, it may look like it is knit in the round, but it is not quite that. The vest has a back that is knit in stockinet stitch and the vest’s cabled yoke ring is sewn around the back’s bottom and top. The rim acts like a shawl, thus giving it a similar look to a circular knitted vest. Y

You will surely collect many compliments when wearing this vest and I am sure that it will become your favorite vest!

Why Hollywood? - I live in North Hollywood and the idea of the garment was conceived and put together in North Hollywood. :) I thought that it would make the vest sound glamorous. :)
