When I knitted this cardigan last autumn, I did not predict that it would become my favourite cardigan. But it quickly did! It is the one I always pull out of the closet; the one that is great for a cold bike ride; the one that matches everything; and the one that is perfect for cool spring days on the patio.

The model is simple, and whether it is worn with jeans or over a dress, it just works – which is exactly how I like my cardigans.

It is knitted back and forth on 4.00-mm circular needles. It is made with two strands of yarn, and knitted top-down, which makes it easy to adjust the length as you go. The simple eyelet pattern around the raglan increases gives the sweater an elegant and decorative look, and despite its light and airy look, it is beautifully warm.
