Faye Bandana
This pattern includes a basic pattern for a bandana that is knitted by casting on all the stitches first and decreasing towards the middle. The basic pattern can be knitted in stockinette or garter stitch. I have also included instructions on how to add a simple lace structure. I have also included a chart that I have chosen to call “Flowery Roger” that can be embroidered with duplicate stitches on a stockinette bandana when it is finished. The cast on and decreasing are the same on the 3 models included in the pattern - it is the structure and yarn you choose that make the differences. I hope the pattern will result in some very simple little scarves or a slightly different piece of headwear.
Very important pattern information -this pattern is not written by a big business or a professional writer. It is written with my own words driven by a passion for knitting, crafting and writing. If you have any questions, please just ask. I check my messages and emails several times every week.
Techniques used in the pattern:
- Cable cast on or optional cast on
- Old Norwegian cast on/ German twisted cast on or long tail cast on that’s also shown in the video with the cable cast on.
- Edge with 2 stitches
- Decrease left and right
- Decrease 2 with one central stitch
- Lace with decrease left and yarn over
- Kitchener stitch/ Weaving together
All techniques are shown on youtube knit_tech.
I hope this bandana will turn about 100 g of yarn into a very wearable accessorize. Happy knitting!
