A simple snood designed to have an oversized fit in order to go comfortably over heads and collars, and allows for a rolled down neck. The snood is worked flat as a rectangle and then sewn together. Suitable for beginners, and easily adaptable. Available in UK and US crochet terminology.

Materials

3.5mm crochet hook

This pattern was designed using Scheepjes Stone Washed in Garnet. This is a sport weight yarn; 78% cotton, 22% acrylic. If using this yarn you will need 1 (2: 2: 3) (4: 5) balls. Alternatively, you will need approximately 80 (140: 240: 390) (470: 540) metres.

Gauge and sizing

This pattern uses back loop stitches to create the ribbed effect. In this stitch pattern, the gauge for this snood is 19 stitches and 18 rows per 10cm.
