Feather Bolero
The Feather Bolero pattern lets you create your own oversized bolero exactly like the one shown in the photos. This is a step-by-step PDF guide packed with video tutorials, even covering the most basic techniques like casting on and knitting stitches.
Language: English (A few tutorial videos are with Polish subtitles, but soon they’ll all be translated into English.)
Skill Level: Beginner
Size: One size fits XS to XL
With this pattern, you’ll learn techniques such as:
♥︎Stockinette stitch worked in rounds and rows
♥︎Ribbing stitch in the round
♥︎Basic cast-on methods
♥︎Stretchy bind-off
♥︎Increasing and decreasing stitches
♥︎And many more helpful tips!
Thanks to the clear instructions and video tutorials, this project is suitable for beginners. The only challenge might be the recommended yarn—it’s a fluffy alpaca-silk blend, which can be a little tricky to work with. If you’ve never used it before, try practicing with smaller swatches first.
Recommended Yarn:
♥︎DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk (25g / 140m) – total 225g, held double
Needles & Tools:
♥︎US size 11 (8 mm) needles – minimum 30 cm cable for main body
♥︎US size 10½–10 (6–7 mm) needles – minimum 30 cm cable for ribbing
Tip: Using interchangeable circular needles works best. Start with smaller needles for ribbing, then switch to larger ones for the stockinette section.
♥︎Stitch markers (or pieces of scrap yarn)
♥︎Scissors
♥︎Tapestry needle
Your finished bolero may differ slightly from the photos—this is the beauty of handmade! You can also customize the pattern to your liking.
