Feather Mittens
I love to embellishment my work. Beads, bows, tassels, whatever catches my eye. When I discovered Dip style stitches, it was like a new world opened up for me! These mitts, are super simple when knit plain, but with the addition of feather embellishments - they absolutely shine.
I love working with this technique. In some books it is called a dip stitch, in others it is called a drawn stitch. I just call it fabulous. It is like an embroidery stitch in that it is applied to a surface, except that you work (apply) it with a knitting needle as you knit the rest of your project.
Worked in a beautiful yarn like the Malabrigo Mecha, it absolutely shines!
I kept this mitten pattern simple just so that you could work on learning the feather stitch itself.
