This wreath knitting pattern uses simple knit and slipped stitches to form a tufted-look knitted holiday wreath. A provisional cast on and grafted bind off give the wreath a smooth, seamless look.

Skills required or willing to learn: Knit, slipped stitch, provisional cast on, grafted bind off, sewing seams. Your regular cast on and bind off may be substituted for the provisional cast on and grafted bind off.

Sizes:
Small – 3”/7.6 cm across
Medium – 8”/20.3 cm across
Large – 14”/35.5 cm across

Yarn Requirements:
Almost any wool or craft yarn would work for this project. Avoid bamboo and other viscose fibers. They tend to stretch dramatically.

For extra color, try a self-striping or variegated yarn. Dip in to your sock yarn scraps and hold different colors together for a marled effect. Add a strand of mohair or novelty yarn for extra texture. The possibilities are limitless.

Small: 0.5 oz/30 gr of fingering weight yarn, 60 yards/55 meters

Medium: 3oz/80 gr of worsted weight yarn, 80 yards/165 meters OR 3oz/80gr of fingering weight yarn held double, 360 yards/330 meters

Large: 7oz/160 gr of worsted weight yarn, 360 yards/330 meters OR 7oz/160 gr of fingering weight yarn held double, 720 yards/660 meters

I recommend fiberfill or yarn scraps to stuff your wreath.

Gauge:
Small: 8sts per inch (cm) on size 1 US (mm)
