Feeling Sparkling Tee is a combination of two of my favorite knitting techniques: easy lace and soothing stockinette. The yoke features the beautifully simple Vine Lace pattern, which creates elegant results with minimal effort.
Knit seamlessly from the top down, the pattern includes both written instructions and a charts to guide you through the lace in the yoke section. This tee was carefully designed for a great shoulder fit and comes in 9 sizes (from 32 to 64 inches in bust circumference).
It’s a perfect project for a fun and engaging knitting journey, resulting in a breezy, elegant tee. Just perfect for a relaxed day or a stylish night out.
CONSTRUCTION
Feeling Sparkling is worked seamlessly from the top down with a circular yoke. The lace yoke features a soft, wavy pattern and is provided with both charted and written instructions.
German short rows are used to raise the back for a comfortable fit, but they are optional. The pattern include instructions to skip them, if you prefer.
After dividing for the sleeves, the body is worked in the round in stockinette and finished with 1x1 ribbing. Sleeves are picked up and knit in the round, also finished with matching ribbing.
The top-down construction makes it easy to adjust the length of both the body and the sleeves to your preferences.
Techniques used in this pattern:
Knitting in the round, German short rows (optional), easy lace (k2tog, ssk, yarn overs), placing stitches on hold, picking up and knitting stitches.
HOW TO SUBSTITUTE YARN
Malabrigo Susurro is listed as a sport-weight yarn, but it behaves almost like a heavy DK. It’s fluffy, light, and airy. I highly recommend swatching to test your yarn before starting. You may find that a yarn heavier than typical sport weight works best for this pattern.
This design is ideal for yarns with low stitch definition, such as fluffy or fuzzy blends (it truly makes them shine). Check out some of the beautiful yarns used by testers, like Garnstudio DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk and Juniper Moon Farm Zooey.
