This HUGE mitten will look terrific on your front door all through the winter season. Special attention to the “hanging” detail allows this mitten to hang straight. Use the photos or included ideas for embellishing this door decoration. Worsted weight wool yarn was used to make this mitten sturdy enough for outdoor use.

The mitten itself uses two skeins of Cascade 220 wool, or an equivalent amount of a worsted weight wool or fiber that will felt. The heart applique can be cut from an additional knitted piece that has been felted in a contrast color, or from woven wool fabric. The applique is added to the mitten after felting. The cuff trim is a purchased braid. The button or pin embellishment is not knitted.
